Developing an AI-Driven recruiting product

Challenge
SMEs in Switzerland often struggle to attract top talent, competing against major corporations. Many lack the resources and expertise to build a robust digital employer presence. JobCloud recognized the opportunity to assist by offering a service to create career pages that help them to convey their unique company culture, team spirit, and vision.
While the idea was promising, it needed validation. Would businesses be willing to pay for it? Would it generate enough value? JobCloud needed to test the concept before committing extensive development resources.
With JobCloud’s core product team focused on their main platform, taking on a new product development cycle wasn’t feasible. They needed a partner to validate the idea quickly, efficiently, and independently. That’s where WeSlam stepped in.
How WeSlam helped
- Fast Time-to-Market: From ideation to MVP in just a few weeks
- AI-Driven Automation: Extracting key employer information to build career pages
- User-First Approach: Testing and refining with real customers
- Independent Validation: No distraction from JobCloud’s core product
WeSlam took on the validation process, acting as Jobcloud’s extension of the product and UX team. We kicked things off with an in-person workshop at Jobcloud’s offices to align expectations, define collaboration methods, and drill down into the core problem.
The process was lean and iterative:
- Understanding the Market: What do job seekers want to know about companies? What are competitors offering? We conducted internal research to clarify the key components of JobCloud’s career pages.
- Prototype & Testing: Within a few weeks, we had a simple manual prototype (sometimes, even a Word document is enough to get started). We tested it with potential customers, asking: “Is this something your company would use? Would you have the resources for this?”
- Building the MVP: We developed a no-code AI-driven assistant that extracted relevant company information and auto-generated structured career pages.
- Live Market Testing: The AI-driven generator was tested with four existing JobCloud clients, who received the service for free in exchange for feedback.

WeSlam felt like an extension of our team. I was amazed by their responsiveness and speed of execution. They are approachable, bring a hands-on problem-solving attitude and most importantly, took accountability for our product – as if it were their own.
Outcome
With the broad feedback gathered, the product was tested on the market within just two months.
Key learnings:
- Traffic & Performance: The product successfully created employer branding awareness.
- Seeker insights: Users first visited and spent time browsing in the career page before moving to job listings, meaning the product was more about visibility than direct conversions.
- Budget Allocation Complexity: Differentiating between employer branding budgets and recruiting budgets proved challenging.
- Test & learn: After the pages went live, we did some optimisations on the job ad pages to increase conversion.
The validation process provided invaluable insights, as JobCloud had the opportunity to test the market fit in early stages. On top they also valued the learnings they got from WeSlam, by using no-code platforms to create the product and also increasing efficiencies on content creation through AI-driven solutions.
